I am going to start making a really cool game. I need people who are good at animating, modeling, programming, sound editing, texture making, or a concept artist. Talk to me on AIM at bdawgthewise or post if you are interested.

...and even if team requests were permitted, you haven't given us any info on the game, just that it's "really cool" which a bit of an overstatement considering we don't even know what its about.

Sounds like your getting people to do all the work for you...

Ok the game is called "A Twisted Mind." It starts out in a cutscene where you, a retired cop, are walking down an alley when you get knocked out. You wake up in a run down building locked in a room. Half beaten to death, you get up and find a key somewhere. Then you open the door and kill the hobo standing outside. Hopefully we will have an animated pipe for that job. The main character's name is Carl and the whole time Carl doesn't know why these people are attacking him. You have to escape out of the building to the roof. And make your way to your apartment. When you are sleeping more people break in and you don't have a gun. So you escape out the window.
That is all I have so far, but to explain it, the cops mind was erased when he retired so he doesn't know why these people are after him. I'm not gonna give too much away.

Ok a question for you then, what is this retired cop doing walking down an alley? And why does the hobbo get beat down? did "Carl" just flip in to a homicidal rage? And to find a key just hiding somewhere in the room is a buit flimsy. and why is he escaping tot eh roof?
Here is my rendition:
setting: bar
time: night

ok "Carl" is sitting in his favorite dive "the only place he can walk in to without the protection his shield (badge). drinking a stout jack with a splash of coke. he gets up and goes to the restroom. when he comes out he orders another drink. punds it, pays his tab and then stands up. feeling a little funny he spins around to survey the bar. things start to go blurry and then he hears a voice just prior to passing out. (voice "This the guy?") when he wakes up he is in a room (appears to be a store room) he tries to stand up on his feet but the pain in his ribs keeps him down. he hears voices outside the door "Go get da boss, time to finish this." (Carl) forces himself to stand, he did not want what had happened to happen again. He takes no time trying to find a way out of this room but realises that the only way out is through the only foor inthe room. he looks around the room for some cover and spots some boxes just clear of the door. he hides behind them and waits. eventually the door opens and in walk two men one brandishing a pistol. the two men look around the room for carl the go tot he opposite end of the room to check behind a few drums. this is when carl makes his move. he grabs a pipe (some object) and runs over and smashes the first guy down, startled the second guy hesitates and this proves fatal. after carl kills the two guards he picks up the pistol and then heads out the door.

ok here ya go man tell me what you think. this is when your adventure shoudl start.

I like your ideas Reality, I just don't know if that would be too hard to make. I could do the bar part though.

Cool Pantaloon, sorry I don't have any screens the only thing I have right now is a first creation of a logo. The only reason I don't have a demo yet is because I don't have a game yet. The is the point of recruiting a crew. http://photobucket.com/albums/y124/bdawg2077/?action=view¤t=atwistedmind.jpg

None of my posts are showing up for some reason. I'm pretty sure it is because I just registered to the site but it is taking forever.

CB, what is wrong with MMORPG's? They are only as hard as RPG's (Granted, you need to have a good understanding of server software...)

BDawg, you CAN have team requests if you have more then a story, and more then a single room map. You need to make plans for ALL the map designs, plans for the unraveling of the entire tale, the enemys, the models, everything! On top of that, you need to complete a critical secion of the game, this means the map, the voicings, the models, or textures, along with all of the above.

Back in the days, I think there were 4-5 Team Request a day for MMORPG's. It was quite sad. That's why I put that in my profile.

I think it's OK to make team requests without actually having something. I think you should discuss the game with the team together and decide what you want to make. Offcourse the individuals must have some sort of portfolio to show how good they are, or what they can do.

Discussing a game idea is indeed important, before starting actual work on the project. That said, it would seem that such discussion would be more approriate in the Game Design Theory forum.

... and that doesn't mean you can just create a team request there either!
