how do I make a texture lighter.
I am trying to make a sky box using an inverted sphere but it is really big and the texture appears too dark on it.

There are two types of people in this world: people who are extremly cool and are good at everything and people who are me.

Don't waste ur money, just download GIMP. It pretty much does everything that photoshop does..for about 0 dollars.

if this is in a 3d modeller you may want to disable the object from being effected by scene lights.

Make your universe effected by ambient lighting, and turn the ambient lighting all the way up. Then stop your planets from being effected by ambient lighting, but put a sun near to them, and put a light near the sun. You can also put lights on your ship as well. Set light range to a big number.

If your using 3dsmax, and have added a texture to the object, one wich won't be tiled, uncheck whithen the material editor, in the apropiate material, the tile thing. It will make it lighter. However, if your texture is used in a tiled way, check if the iterations of tiles corresponds to what your looking for.
More lighter can be also done by changing the self-ilumination number, also within the material editor...

Yes but thats assuming he has photoshop, if he doesn't, why would he spend so much money on it when he could just download gimp for free?
