Yes, bad pun.

I created a katamari (ball thingy) and I exported it form lightwave 3D 8.0 as a directx 8 file and it wont load. I amde another one, but it wasnt subpatched (smoothed).

Anybody ever have any similar problems.

Its sad that DB dies form a 5 KB x file.

I've heard of problems exporting from LW before, make sure your exporting in the right DX format.

I concur, most programs that don't export ascii primarily, tend to have it has a second option, you should find it in your .x export settings, if not a plugin?

you can also use .3ds models in dark basic (unanimated though) in case lightwave can export to it...

You exported as DX8? I read somewhere on the forums, it should be DX9 or DB fails to load correctly.
You can also use mview (included in DXSDK) to view your .x files. Most of the time, if it works in mview, it will work in db.

Ok, I'll try that when on my next class. WHich sucks cuz it isnt until Wednesday.

Also, I would use the .3ds export tool with LW, but you have to triple things and then I subpatch it and it looks ugly. SO thats why I dislike .3ds

Can DBPro use lwo?
