Ok, so I'm trying to convert the FPSC character .X models to .3DS so I can animate it in Motion Builder, but when I use Deep Exploration, it says that the .X files are corrupt. Does anyone know why this is? How can I convert it?

When FPSC develops enough, lets make a Redwall game!

Oh, that would make sense. Do you know of a free converter that does?
Thanks Chris and Joh for your help.

Sorry mate, don't know of any free xto3ds. I would just use something like Milkshape or Fragmotion as a bridge between formats.

Blender can convert 3ds to X.
It's a free download.

Blender won't work for characters, for the same reason he can't do it with Deep Exploration.

I don't think converting them to .3ds will work anyway, this format doesn't support boned animations and has other limitations.

Maya's .obj format would be better, although it doesn't support mesh deformation either.

More info.

There is no easy way to do that. It's just like I said in my thread we need more FPSC support for Milkshape3D and Fragmotion. ChrisB you have no skillz, No talent, No way! Sunflash you realy deserve better and you should get involved in asking TGC and the developers of MS3D for a DX9.0c plug in something. If there IS a program that can convert X to 3DS ..please by all means go for it and then tell us..but not ChrisB the wanna be! he knows nothing.

Hi,

Not sure if it will work for characters but you can try 3DWin V5 http://www.tb-software.com/products1.html
