Not sure if it's my texturing skill's that's gone warped or if it's the program causing the problem's but take alook at the two images below. The very bottom one is the image as is in Photoshop 7. The above it is the ingame shot of a segment with the texture applied through MagicFPS.

Im alittle lost to how it's happened and how to fix it.

Your black aeras are transparent. Can happen if you save your texture in .png or .tga format with alpha channel on.

When you make the texture just change the brightness by a teenie bit so there's not total black in your texture.

Texture looks good btw!

It's just 1 of many. Iv got alittle over 200 hundred ready to go once Iv fixed this little problem with the hole's. (I'll try your suggestion's in a few moment's and edit this post.)

Not all the texture's are of my own creation. Some are from my friend Riku (To which I have his written permission to release them to you guy's in the future since he created them for a HL2 mod that ended up going under.)

Tal

Edit: Iv tried to change the brightness slightly and it seem's as if there is no Pure Black now but im still getting the whole's. Is there anyway to stop the transparency in Photoshop?

Hmm, I edited the .psd's with the brightness and and alpha channel. Then saved as .tga and it's solved the problem. Iv attached a thumbnail image (click to enlarge) of the finished segment without hole's. Im hopping to show you many. many more.

Great software Sinistar and thank's for the support.

Well then you'll love this...

Signs and boxes are done. Fully editable and creates a unique mesh for each object. Tomorrow I'll put in the cylinders and object importer. Must sleep now...

You know I might as well throw in a sphere too.

How do you get that window title then ?

Is it a popular theme or something that many people have ?

Or how does that window title background gradient show in many peoples screenshots ? Maby db pro`s default or something ?

RGB 0,0,0 is transparent.
Even with a JPG for a HUD!

RGB 0,0,0 is True Black
Never under-estimate the power of the darkside.

RGB 1,1,1 will appear black, and not transparent.

Yeah I knew that I was just testing you

Talairina might still be experiencing the problem because the DDS is still there in the texturebank You have to delete it and replace the tga file.

Set window on. That's just the xp window with gradient and stuff. The rest is just pictures I made in Pain Shop.

I did use a dll for the file picker in version 1. This version uses VB for all that kind of thing. It's transparent to the user tho.

hehe, did you forget the "t" in paint for a reason? is it really a pain shop?
with the update for Magic FPS, is it possible to add animations to the entities you would place in the segment? or is that puching it? for instance, a floor sement with a cude on the edge going around the segment? I dont think thats possible, but would nasty if it were possible, or if you could do it.

LOL yes PAIN SHOP PRO. It's Pinhead's favorite progam!

when you are making signs, boxes or whatever, you are making entities. There's no provision to add animations, but you can connect them to scripts so they'll move if you want.

I keep the segment in the preview so you can see the scale basically how it will look in the game. This will be more important when importing objects.

{edit} I'm going to make Pain Shop Pro. Not sure what it's going to be --but I think it will be a killer app.

Hey I found a bunch of public domain movie posters and I'm throwing them in for some of my sign textures.

ya, i thought that addin animation would be to much....

Pain shop pro should either be a paint prgram, or literly, a shop that produces pain....

If you've ever played Dungeon Keeper 1 or 2 I think the torture areas are like Pain Shop Pro.

BTW I fixed that wood panel texture so it's all seamlesey now. People with the update will have a better seamless one of those ...oh you mean the floor? Actually that looks better now too.
