Hellu.

Although there are many 3D-modelling programs out there, there are very few I've come across that involves animatiting the models created in it. My so far favourite program, anim8or, surely has an model animator build in, but it doesn't export animated models nor animate them as I want to. Anim8or just rotates objects, but I want an animator that can manipulate every single polygon in a model as CharacterShop
http://charactershop.thegamecreators.com/
is capable of doing.

Do you have any ideas of a good program that would satisfy my needs? I belive 3DstudioMax would do it, but maybe something more user friendly?

I've included an image of the model I wich to animate.

Have you tried blender, saw some posts around here saying people where able to get some animations for DB/DBP with blender...

Not really gonna help you much on the user friendly side (mho) but it's free so there is a trade off...

Personally I use Max 8 (bought it, yes paid for it cause I can) back in November of last year and I just started to animate stuff last week, it's a godsend versus Milkshape....

my first animated object is on this board under free zombie models + Wolf wip.... Both were just quick attempts at learning the program, feel free to use them in any of your upcoming projects...

click the anim button in the lower-right corner of the screen, then select a joint and rotate.

If your going to use fragmotion, you might aswell use pacemaker. It contains better features, and is basically a full replacement for the outdated fragmotion. Its a much better deal for its price.

around here.. normal's just a setting on a hair dryer

CFX for some reason like sucks up all my ram and runs super slow on my system... might be my crappy PC but it might be mind games. MIND GAMES!!

I suggest milkshape since its really the only thing ive ever seriously used while animating something but CFX is similar with better tools and i will probably start using that more often.

Since Character FX had a better interface I have use that one. Thanks for the tip!

However, I haven't quite understood how to bind the verteces to the skeleton. I've tried the bind-skin command, but that doesn't work propaly. Although some parts of the model were attached to the skeleton, it maninly didn't work. (as seen in the attached picture...)

How can I attach the vertex to the skeleton correctly?
