I am thinking of purchasing Darkbasic Pro, but I have a few questions.

First, is it possible to import Hash Animation:Master models, animations, bones, etc. into DBPro (or are there utilities that can do this?)?

Second, could someone explain this BSP "licensing issue" that everyone's always talking about in "DarkBasic vs. " debates? Is BSP just a file-format? Do I have to pay to use it or edit BSP files?

Thanks in advance for the info.

Cant say about the first, but for the second :

BSP is a format for 3D maps. BSP usage should be free at all times

Yes, I really am THAT good...

The licensing is to do with the tools that compile the BSP. The iD tools (Quake 3) are very expensive for commercial games use (so are most of them, but when you consider how complex it is you see why). The best is Zoners Half-Life tools which are free and work with Valves Hammer editor (also free) - these are what i'm going to use.

There was a fellow that visited the old forum who said he'd made an A:M exporter for the newer version of the .X format, the one that allows mesh deformation. I haven't tried it or even seen it, though.
