I know alot of you here have Photoshop, and I need some help. Im trying to do a custom cursor for my game's menus. However, even when I set the background to translucent, it still comes out in FPSC as a white box with the pic in the middle. How do I make it so only the cursor, not the white background, shows up? Thanks.

B.T.W. I onyl have Photoshop Elements (the cheaper version; regular is jut way too expensive) but most of it is the same. Only the advanced stuff is excluded. For a simple task like this, it shouldn't matter.

Because no n00b is a good n00b.

You need to create an alpha channel for it. You can do this from the Channel tab. Create new channel. Then fill the area you want to be opaque with white and transparent with black.

I used this tutorial when I wanted to make my own command map icons for enemy territory. It should help you a lot with making custom cursor's.

set black for the transparent part of the image, save your file as jpeg.

works with EVERY program. no alpha channels and no other crypto stuff.

that's all, folks
