hey guys.

for the past couple of months ive been slowley working on a Entity Creation system, but with the release of the oficial one, i am forceed to release this quickly, since the official one has NO gui whatsoever.

anyway, this isnt just an FPS maker, its an Entity maker.
you can load a model and texture, adjust the ofset, rotation and size in realtime, and set collision mode, effect, material, virtually every aspect you can edit.

This is a Public BETA because i know its far from finished, i just wanted the communitys oppinion and comments on it, to make it into a full product. i dont mean product as im going to charge for it, well, i was going to charge 5$, but the official one is out, so i decided to drop the price.

anyway, i hope that some of you will download this program and maybe post any errors you get or give me suggestions to fix certain aspects.

i dont want any commercial use out of the BETA versions of this program, but i will allow use by the license with Version 1.0

Screenshots:

Anyway, heres the download, please post back and tell me what you think:

Sorry, BETA testing is over!

just curious you ever thought about taking your programmin skills to the next level?

and doing your own engine?
i have the basic structure in place of a 3d engine

i mean its not the greatest effort in the world but it works

i would be glad to share?

Good work though (from what I can see). I'd pay for it though, as the official one isn't very user friendly IMO; but then again, I am a visual person

Ok, from now on, lets keep this thread for bug reports and comments.

i know most of you will never erad the readme.txt, so im just going to say this:

the program opens fpe's, but relative paths make the program crash.
if you make an entity, make sure it has an absolute path for the time being (I.E. C:\Program Files\...ETC)

Hey BULLSHOCK, nice program. This is off topic but on your FPS Mods site, I cannot download anything. When I click download on a certain file, it just brings me to the File Front homepage. Why is this happening? Thanx in advace.

you must have FPS Creator installed to run the program, since it is strictly a FPSC program.

but thanks for the comments...

Just tried a few minutes. Having some trouble with it. Entity was created but filenames were just the extensions eg .fpe,.bmp,.tga,.dbo

I'll use it a bit more tomorrow, see where I went wrong. I'll post anything.

Whats the difference between Make Entity and Save as?

the filename for the entitys are saved as what you enter in the DESC feild, (the top edit box in the middle, under ENTITY SETTINGS)
, if that feild is balnk, then your name will be blank.

im going to addan entity nameing system, so oif the feild is blank it will save as ENTITY_1 or something.

make entity exports directly to the FPSC Entity Creation suite folder.

save as, lets you save the entity to wherever you want.

thanks guys,

but like i said, it far from finished, i would really appreciate it if some of you could maybe post bugs, errors, or features youd like to see in the next version.

ive already added a pompt to "MAKE ENTITY" which lets you enter the name, and i still have to add properties in the array for some of the other functions like USE KEY and IFUSED.

like i said, im trying to develop tis into a full product, so anything thats worn, or out of place, post here so i can fix it.

"C:\Program Files\The Game Creators\FPS Creator\Files\entitybank\"

so...

i will fix that, but in the mean time, you can make that path and it will work...

ok guys...getting ready for V 0.2

*sarcasticly* thanks for all your input
lol

seriously, so far ive added a folder selection if FPSC isnt installed in the normal directory, so it wont crash.

ive also added a name diolog when you click MAKE ENTITY, instead of just using the name in the DESC feild.

on top of that, ive dramatically decreased the CPU usage for this build, so the system requirements will go down.

i would like to fix some bugs...but i have not found any, so i have been spending my time cleaning up the source and adding things.

Note:5 of the 6 properties under the AI Properties tab (everything exept strength) dont currently metter. no matter what they are set to, they will not export. this is not a bug, its a good example of my memory. those properties will be in by V 0.2.

please, anyone, if my program ever crashes, please post, im trying to fix as much as i can while i have time.

thats all for now

Hey! I just downloaded and it already crashed on me
Heres a screeny (attached). It's probably some stupid mistake that I did . It gave me the error right when I opened the exe for the first time.

for some reason people get that error.
the path at that line is:
"Crogram FilesThe Game CreatorsFPS CreatorFilesentitybank"

so i dont know why anyone who installed fpsc would get that, but i fixed that for V 0.2, which i think is pretty much done exept for me to zip and upload....

ya, everything should pretty much work, although some of you that had to select your path manually, the option "MAKE ENTIYTY" may not work correctly, if it doesnt, try useing "SAVE ENTITY AS..." until i fix the glitch...

ok guys, i realeased all the fixes in 0.3 and it can be found here:

Link Removed, BETA testing is over

it should now work for every body with one exeption.
the files folder that yous elect as your FPSC directory MUST have an entitybank directory, if it doesnt, it will fail

anyway, it should work perfectly. if it crashes at all, let me know, or if there is a property you would like to see added, anything at all.

in the mean time, i will start working on the property help, so that everybody can know exactlt what each property does.

Hi,

Thanks BULLSHOCK 2 for your effort and for your program. Unfortunately I still didn't figure how to use it .. but that's just me. I was actually trying to fix the railroad pack and I have wagon 7 all nicely textured but I'm now stuck because I don't quite understand why I'm textured in your program and in the compile game it is not working. It is textured ok but with hundreds of the same object and small. I wish I could understand it more... but really... thanks for everything. I will now try this version and hopefully will be able to import my object textured into FPS.

I made a screenshot of the wagon7 from railroad track and it is textured but not in the compiled game. Don't I wish I had your understand of FPS

If I select the texture that I did from Render to file it is not textured correctly. Should I leave the object wagon7 untextured as a .x file and use the wagon7.tga in your program to have my object textured correctly?

I hope you understand what I mean, English is not my first language ...

Thanks for everything!

sorry Zenthek ,

i didnt see your post when i poeted.

your problem is simple, when you load a mesh that has texture coordinates, it automatically loads the textures within the mesh if it can find them.

your problem in FPSC is simple, FPSC doesnt nativly support multiiple textures, and my program doesnt make textures for you, it just copies the existing SINGLE texture.

a solution that has worked for some people is this: after you make your entity, copy all of the texture files into the same folder that your entity is in, then it should show up.

thanks everybody for your support.

Hi,

Thanks BULLSHOCK 2 for your assistance, much appreciated. I will definitely try your recommendation. After I sent the previous message, I noticed that I had a Humvee entity in the special folder was that ever a surprise and also a good practice for the .fpe file. I created the .fpe file for the humvee and I'm now able to use the humvee nicely textured in my games I wish I knew how they so nicely made all of the humvee parts into on .dds? It will come in time

I tried all evening to do Render to Texture but for some reason I can't seem to get only one .tga file. I think that if I had that one .tga file I would also be ok... or I think since the Humvee was a uv unwrap exported into one .dds file. Would anyone have an idea of the problem of getting multiple .tga instead of a single .tga file or what I need to put in my Render to Texture dialog when I click on Render?

Really, I just want to fix the railroad pack and at the same time help other people that got scammed by accode.com.

Thanks for everything and your patience with a noob!

Thanks everyone for comments.

@zanthek

although my program doesnt support multiple textures since FPSC doesnt, but i am looking into what you described. right now its a matter of if my program can change UV coordinates or not. if it can, your all in good luck, because i can then make my own RENDER TO TEXTURE button within my porgram. until then, you will have to do that externally, and i am sorry i cannot be of any hjelp in that area.

taking last requests for 0.4...its coming!

so far ive added a few things like more options, I integrated the license into the program, under VEIW>LICENSE and Fixed a lot of misc issues..

Hey Bullshock,

Thanks for the program but it will not open, I get a "Runtime Error 8003 - Could not find path at line 229" error message when I try and open the program. Where is this supposed to be installed - directly into FPSC itself?

Thanks for any help.

Thanks for eveyones input.

BETA testing is now over with and over the next week i will tweak this program for the realease date.

note to everyone that has a BETA Version:
The license on the BETA's will hold firm even after V 1.0 is released, so i suggest deleting it from your computer.

as to the license for V1...im working on it.

once again, thank you everyone for being so helpful

How much are you gonna charge for this one when it's done, Bullshock? How does it compare to Sinistar's; or is it different?

well, there is going to be 2 versions,

the one you guys tested, which is the LITE version.

and then there is a totally "pimped out" version that will be 5$ USD.
this version has a completely different GUI, a separate window for 3D veiw, so you dont have to squint your eyes to see your model.
it also has a veiw FPE option which will let you look at your fpe while in the program, so you could copy and paste if you wanted. it also has a thumbnail veiwer for textures, so you can find an image if you dont know the file name. the PRO version also will come complete with a full manual, and a description of every property, and will also have no license at all to what it produces.

sinistars program, from what it looks like, can make entitys, but you cant set the properties. mine is for entity creation and custimization. you can adjust size, rotation and offset in realtime so it will look exactly the same in my program as it will in FPSC.

sinistar is going to have to post on this one because i dont know what his does and doesnt do.

no.

the lite version and the pro version are COMPLETELY different. there will be a demo of the pro version with the exporting code removed though.

trust me, if you thought the BETA versions were the least bit helpful, you will LOVE the pro version.

but like i said, ive got a few minor things on my to-do list and ill have a launch.
