Hi, wonder if you could help with an annoying problem I've been having when trying to create a maze level similar to those of Pacman with DBP in 3D.

I've used XSI to create the map, then exported the scene to .X format. It works fine and shows up fine in DarkBASIC but seeing as I'm not that experienced yet, I can't work out how to keep the camera inside the maze.

So I thought I'd take the easy way out and create a BSP environment instead and simply use the bsp collision, which has worked well for me in a college assignment (which included a bsp file). The problem is that when I try to use the BSP/PVS Compiler to export my .X models to BSP, I get the following error:

"CSG Pass Complete"

Then:

"Failed to select Splitter"

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated as this is for another College assessment and is due in quite soon.

Thanks.

The bsp compiler that comes with db is useless. Look in the code snippits forum. One of the pinned topics is sliding collision with a .x model. Try using that. You could also search around for the free version of Nuclear Glory Collision.

i have used the intersect object command for walking on .x levels, may work with 3-d maze as well, can't hurt to look into it...
