I just had to show this one, it's too good. The first thing to explode was an artillery crate; everything else exploded the second after I took this shot. Too bad there's no rag-doll physics

Yeah the physics engine in fpsc is great. Its almost as good as an early version of the Havok engine.

Ya the physics engine is good, but all they need are rag-doll physics to top it off.

There are quite a number of things that the FPSC physics engine is lacking, areas it falls short in or does badly irrespective of the situation regarding ragdoll physics.

3Impact comes in a dll form now, it has ragdoll physics, I wonder if you could use this in the FPSC engine.

Ragdoll physics could possibly be incorporated from some other source or other into the FPSC source.

I would not like to attempt it but either someone else or FPSC will no doubt have a go at some stage. TGC are probably the best people to do this.

Who knows what you may get in the future - just depends on how FPSC does as a product I guess as to how it develops.

I had heard a rumor some time back regading improvements to physics in FPSC but rumours are just that.

We should perhaps be grateful for any update whatever that provides for and trust that TGC will continue to develop the product further as time goes by.

There are certainly (in my opinion which counts for little) many other more important aspects and many more things deserving of improvement or inclusion before attaching any importannce to Ragdoll physics which is by no means of any vital importance to current gamemaking with FPSC and I would expect TGC to consider the situation the same way. I am sure they will and will concentrate their efforts on those other things they know well are of importance to FPSC gamemakers and are currently needing of their attention.

Unless development of another product in their range being developed allows for easy transition or integration of Ragdoll physics over to FPSC I doubt they will even consider it in the foreseeable future and quite rightly so - instead giving precedence to the other deserving issues.

SarusX,

Well thank you.

Actually there are so many important issues or features and functions users would like to see fixed, included or added to FPSC - I recon we will be very lucky to even see a portion of them become a reallity so I at least personally, dont expect to see any particular ones included in any upgrade or eventual new version.

That way I have to use FPSC as is or move on. If any improvements do then show up then that would be a bonus and I wont be dissapointed - well I will be but as a gamemaker I'm used to that.

You'll know what I mean.

good news guys, i finally got the enhancements pack, so once i get the hang of it, you should see some ENGINE mods from me.

although i dont quite feel like ripping out ode and implementing newton for ragdoll physics, i will be making some minor changes, like a few commands and the script limit.

Minor?
I gues that means you won't be working on the Save/Load.

BULLSHOCK 2,

Thats good news. Im sure everyone will be grateful for anything you can do to help.

I recon you are very wise to stay well away from complex issues and stuff like "Newton an Ragdoll Physics". If it was any other engine it might be a different matter but getting involved with anything like that regarding FPSC is likely to give you a big headache and have you chasing your tail forever.

Cheers
