I'm looking for an editor to create some custom objects for use on a project I'm working on. Does anyone know o a good DirectX object editor? I found one called MeshX that has a 30-day trial and $20 registration fee to purchase, but haven't had a chance to try it out. Anyone have experiences, good or bad, with this editor?

Any info would be helpful.

*Cough Cough* Anim8or... granted it uses .3ds models but you can easily get a .3ds to .x editor if required.

Or use Blender to convert, like I do. It seems like the internet is retarded in that you can't find any real model converters that are free. All we want to do is convert a file to the right format! We shouldn't have to pay them stupid money just to change a .3ds file into a .x file!

1GB DDR-SDRAM (May increase to 2GB one day)
512MB ATI Radeon X1800 Series - Finally! A card that does pixel shaders correctly!

Does Anim8or or Blender import X format models ? I only recommended Milkshape because it also imports x format as well as exporting...

If your just looking for a modeling program, your never gonna beat Blender for it's abilities and price....

i like to use anim8or for cinematics, but as far as exporting models to 3ds, it doesn't support animations, so unless you only want to make cinematics, or unanimated objects, then anim8or wouldn't be a good choice right as of now.
