Hi all,

We've added a small new area to our site which includes extra free DBPro plugins to support third party devices including so far the cool USB Light Gun and P5 Virtual Reality Glove.

Cheers,

It's great to see new things being added to aid this Language, I love the idea of the glove and have since a similar one was designed for the PSONE I think the price is the only thing holding it back really from the masses, it would be great to see more made of it as there definatly is potential there for it, I know Black and white has updated now to use it and I presume B+W2 will utilize it from the off, maybe as more high profile companies make use of this glove it will decrease in price enough to warrant making something of it in the home/Sub-Pro market too..

I'm pretty certain that a barcode scanner would work anyway. All they do is send a string to the keyboard buffer.

i actually wanna try that glove out sometime i love all this techy stuff ... i had one for Maya at one point, it was fantastic as it had Force feedback in each finger - so you could feel the harder you pushed like sculpting, i mean i was just trying it out cause i don't think i'd spend $5k on something like that but it was certainly one of the most enjoyable ways i've had a chance to create using

it said on the page that its supported in Hitman2, so it must have Quake-eque controling - but probably can be edited up however you like.

of course!
My my, what could be accomplished with that glove!
I predict a whole bunch of games involving fingers only, ie
musical instruments and such... and then there are the more
taboo games, I've heard of some interesting use of "gloves"
in them, but let's not go there

But is that gun any good. I never heard of a good PC light gun.
I'm writing a game where two players can control a vehicle as a pilot and a gunner. That gun would mean that they could share a computer rather than playing over a network!

Well, the gun is said to be the first decent PC light gun yet, according to a recent report in games domain.

I just thought I would add my two cents, I bought a light gun when they came out, and it works really well. The only problem is the cords could be longer and you have to calibrate it for each game. That is easy though, as they have the calibration function as a switch on the gun. Other than that, its a two button mouse. Hmmm, the one other draw back is you never know where exactly your aiming, as the mouse cursor doesn't move until the gun is fired. You get used to that though. It cost about $40.00 US, so it ain't the cheapest toy, but not bad at all.

I would like to try that glove out sometime.
