Having seen someone else do this on deviantart i decided to try my hand at it as well. I doubt that I will model my entire room, just enough to fill the screen. Here is an early WIP of it.

If it's going to be a game then it's obviously too high poly, but if it's just for art then it looks very nice so far. Proportions look good, although the monitor on the left's support looks a little thin.

nice work, I would model my own room, but to model all the mess would be a pain , I might nick your idea though but imagine it with less mess

I think ill add some mess too. My room is in no way that clean lol. The render with materials was no good so it will be a little longer.

Thanks for the comments all so far.

Sure, just give me a couple hundred dollars and ill do it for free :p
Im not sure wat that thing is on the floor in the second shot but it looks difficult to model.
I just realized that I forgot the dividers in my window so I am adding those plus a little mess on the desk.

Nice, the most beautiful thing in your room is that nice apple mac sitting there, well I might start my room today, but after playing 2 hours of basketball with Ed and others I can't be arsed with the PC lol

Hardware isn't the only thing that defines a mac, sure they use Intel and ATI, but macs are still much more stable and faster than PCs, heck PC's can only use up to 8gb ram, unlike macs that go up to 16gb

that's incorrect... a normal workstation PC's mobo will only support 8gb, but if you really needed 16gb of ram, you could get a board that supports it EASY. same with a mac, no one needs 16gb, but if you do, it's there for you

haha, I would have to say, most people don't care what brand of hardware they use, as long as it does/can run the software they want.

That's a surprise - certainly on linux, nVidia gives far superior performance than ATi

...and bearing in mind both Mac and Linux are based around Unix... I think you know what I'm thinking...

K fair enough, guess I should try to keep up to date with stuff before I make a point

I'm sure you could fit a nVidia in a Mac, I'm sure there are macs with them in.

great start. I modelled my bathroom once. I think my hairdryer alone was over 15k polys.

HMmm try to fix your materials , it`s now looking too sterile , your window material is not right , it should be more transparent and not so blue , and if you want try to add some caustics, and also your lights are a bit mess , the front leg of the desk should not be black .....

Looks Awsome, I wish i had 2 computers in my room, or two monitors. You know you have a very clean room. If i were to model my room i would have to put a sea of junk on the floor.

Until I saw the window frame, I thought he had a plasma screen or something.

Thanks, the blue is actually supposed to be sky, since i was too lazy to make an actual scene outside of the window, but maybe ill try to fix it. There is actually more mess in my real room but i didnt' want to model all of it. Ill try fixing the lighting, right now i have 3 area lights where the lights in my room are and a sun light coming through the window but it doesn't seem to be working.
