I was reding this beginners tutorial for blender, when it said to add a bezier curve. Perfectly fine. Anyway, under its instructions, I go into the toolbox, go add -> curve -> bezier curve. From this point, I can't get a curve to appear. I've tried clicking, dragging, etc. What have I done wrong? This is what the tutorial says:

Quote: "I am making the fins by drawing an outline and beveling it. Press [TAB] to leave the edit mode of the lattice. Place the 3d cursor above the dolphin's back (LeftClick). Bring up the toolbox and select add-curve-bezier curve (Fig. 16). In curve edit mode, you can add ver-tices by first selecting an endpoint of the curve, then holding down [CTRL] and LeftButton clicking. Each click will add a new node to the end of your curve (Fig. 17-20). When you are satisfied, close the curve with [C]."

Am I missing something?

I dunno what you are doing wrong. The curve will appear where the 3d cursor is, so make sure that is in a spot that you can find(just left click somewhere to see where the cursor is)

Yeh the curve didn't appear where the 3d cursor was... I moved the view around and all, couldn't find it. The tutorial says you have to select an endpoint, then ctrl-click to add vertices. I don't fully understand what it means by an endpoint, though.

I've just started using Blender and I have absolutely *no* experience in graphic design/art/3D or whatever you want to call it. For me it's the easiest. I've downloaded a lot of programs over the past couple of weeks trying to find something that was easy enough for a *true* beginner. I can program but this was way out of my league. Then again, I am very stubborn and when I decide I want to do something, I don't stop until I have and I will annoy anyone I have to in the process. After messing with the a lot of others and reading over a lot of tutorials, I found most assume you know what this and that does or is and I never made any progress. But with this tutorial below I found for Blender, I'm actually beginning to learn something. That's because it explains in great detail everything that Blender does and in what I consider exect lessons on how to use its features. If I can use it, anyone can. Here's the link. Hope it helps you as much as it has me.

YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!! I fixed it!
I was just mucking around in Blender, and the thing I did was clicked the View button at the bottom of the 3D View Window, then clicked Global View- and I could see the camera again (which I hadn't noticed was missing ). Then, I went add-curve-bezeir curve and it was there! Turns out it was working, I just couldn't see it. LOL
