Cool, but I'll wait with buying after I've tried the light version. I never buy software I can't try beforehand and I'm really puzzled that in this community people try to sell applications/games that you can't try first. But I'm glad you will release a lite version for all of us to try.

I think Bullshock's reputation in this community speaks for itself, that he's put this level of effort in already (E.C.S. Public Beta amongst other things) is nothing short of commendable. I for one would rather have it now than wait.

You can expect an order from me shortly so hopefully you'll be ordering that Expansion Pack shortly .

Cheers, OG.

ok, check this:

lite is up=loaded, so feel free to download it at the above link

note: LITE is NOT the same as PRO, its NOT a pro demo, its a free version of the program. LITE is NOT a stripped down version of pro, pro is a program built from the ground up. it is completely different, although they have some of the same menus and settings, i wrote them separatly, because i want to give something to the community, but i can give more to the community if i get the dbpro expansions pack, thats the ONLY reason im selling it.

in a few minutes, i will upload a video tutorial showing pro in action. (im rendering it now)

@BullShock: I've been playing with the Pro version and it works great. Don't know what you're adding in 1.1, but I can't wait to see it. The program speeds things up so much, I'm amazed TGC didn't put this out as part of FPSC. Can't compare the minimal cost with the time saved, entity after entity. All I can say is thanks...

Thanks, I really appreciate the comments.

For starters, it seems there is a bug with cancelling the "Export DBO" option, the program seems to crash.

also, when you make changes to say, the color, and then you export an entitiy, the settings.ini is saved to another directory, so it reads the old one.

3rd) i've added a feature that anyone whos is gooing to make packs to sell will like(and it should have been theire from the begging)
an "Automatic Conversion" checkbox. If this box is unchecked, it will simply copy your model files, so those of you that dont want to distribute just DBO files can do so. If the box is checked, it will convert to DBO.

plus there seems to be a few minor odds and ends that needed repair.
I've run into a problem with loading 3ds and md1 files, so it may take longer than i thought, but it will be out after i get everything sorted out.

cool. Just what I need. Yeah I guess I should have done some begging when you were asking for feedback.

It would be nice to also have a feature to add a comment, possibly at end of fpe file. Something like:

;fpe generated by FPSC Entity Creation Suite PRO - 5/3/2006 3:00 AM (1st comment.Editable)
;Insert comment (2nd comment for user stuff/copyrights etc.)

If theres anything else you guys want to see in this program, and its humanly possible for me to code, i will add it.

thanks for the feedback.

BULLSHOCK 2,

This is really powerful, I really like the realtime settings. it makes positioning non fpsc models fast and easy.
I have been importing 3ds files and it works great. I used to have to convert the models to .x, then scale and then play with the position which took a long time. Using E.C.S. takes only a couple of seconds.

Very good utility and a great price too.

Thank you.

Excellent price. Just ordered another copy for my partner. I had thought about writing something like this myself, but never seem to get time for things. Figured it would have taken at least a week to write. Let's see, work 40 hours or spend $5.00??? Save about 12 and a half cents an hour by writing it myself......

Or just keep doing entities manually? The program saves about 10 minutes per entity average, if you figure your time is only worth $5 an hour, 6 entities and the program is paid for......

Nope, can't see why anyone working with entities wouldn't have to have it. And now I've used up my alloted forum time and don't have any left for my [monthlysarcasticrant]. Oh well, thanks again BULLSHOCK.

I noticed when I select the type of decal, I get different results. For example; when I put in a crate, and select wood w/chips, I get metal sparks; when I put in a metal drum and select metal sparks, I get dust with rock debris (the dust with rock debris works fine though ).

Might want to check that out. Other than that, this is an outstanding program. I wish I would have had this a LONG time ago. Again, good work Tim; this is a bargain.

it may seem like i am saying this because i wrote the program, but i honestly think this thing is worth more than 5$...

but, i was going to give it for free, but i ended putting so much work into it, and i need money in my paypal to buy the expansions pack so...

anyway, glad you like it.

@the dude

not quite sure what you mean by that. are you sure you even downloaded the right program?

@kiethc

this is fixed in v1.1

it seems that material index are values 0-8 i believe, and for some reason its adding 1 to the value, so its going 1-9.

the update WILL fix it though.

@Aoneweb

Good, im glad.

@everyone

1.1 should be out sometime this week

some of the features im working on as of now are:
- mouse pivoting in 3d window

- comments

- bugfixes

OK, Last requests,

1.1 is almost ready to ship,

so far, I'veadded the following:

- mouse control of 3d window

- an "Automatic Conversion" checkbox for those that dont want theire models automatically converted to DBO

- Various bugfixes

- Resizable 3D window

- fixed material index

- Added a comment box (didnt yet but will before 1.1 comes out)

- swapped positions of model+texture and AI scripts for better workflow

- Fixed a few cosmetic problems

Note:

There is a misprint on the material indexes,
They DO NOT go from 0-8 and then 10
they go from 1-10, 0 is a copy of the generic dust material.

So, if anyone has any last requests, please let me know, I will try my best to add anything you come up with.

I don't think that that is likely, mods rarely sticky anything, let alone an application that rivals theire own.

anyway, 1.1 will be out (if all goes well) by saturday if not tomorrow. all i have left to do is update the manual, help files, and the site.
