Ive tried to open the dds. files in the fpsc folder to edit the textures in photoshop but i cant get them open in it. Which program do i need?

Try some kind of Photoviewer and then save it as a .JPEG and then edit and then a .tga

I believe there is a plugin for .dds file conversions for photoshop on the web for free.

Heh, i got it now but i dont know how to install it. Its just a single file...and by the way, how do you make transparent HUDs that are not fully transparent? Like BULLSHOCKS blue HUD that is shown up in his "linedance" thread.

set opacity to 50...or...lower than 100..

its a plugin, go to the photo shop folders and you should see a plugin folder.

Opacity is the same as transparency inside photoshop. It's a bar you adjust in the Layers window. Take the picture you want transparent in the uppermost layer, then take what you want solid and put it in the bottom layer or on top of the background layer. Then adjust the opacity of the layer on top so that it shows through to the layer on the bottom.
