he has 500 FREE MODELS!!!, I can even have a macdonalds in my game..!
but is there a program that
converts from .3ds (3ds format) to .x model format, and gives out a flat .tga texture of the object....
I know how to add a .x and a .tga texture with the .fpe txt file..
so an object comes up in FPS Creator...
i'm ok at textureing, I transformed a normal CLEAN boring double bed for the WW2 pack, to a nice scemen stained sex pit!!!

but i'm looking for a nice solid converter for 3ds max to .x format
also a texture converter so we don't get white buildings will be a bonus

use DBConv to convert from 3ds to .x

not sure of your texture situation but you can use a program like Lithunwrap to save a flattened outline of a texture which you can edit using photoshop and save as a tga

I tryed lithunwrap, but I exported a load of white lines, not the flat 3D image of the object...

those white lines are the outline of the object if you were to flatten it out. Try putting some color in between some of those lines using paint or something, then use the Preview menu to look at where the colors lie. To apply the texture before looking at the preview window, look at the picture.

You can move and scale those white lines around in lithunwrap to make it more convienent to texture. Play with it some more, or if you find it too difficult, consider other programs.
