Is it possible to simply put new faces on the characters that come with the fps pack? Are there templates (or .TGA files) for the models that come in the fps pack?

How do you go about making your own animations?

Is there a cheap (or better yet ) free software for character creation?

To use a template to change around a characters look:

Say you want to change around the look of the character "Officer (machine gun)".

Assuming you installed to the default directory, open up the .x model corresponding to the character (officer.x) in the directory c:\program files\the game creators\fps creator\files\entitybank\ww2\characters using a program like Lithunwrap (free)

if using Lithunwrap, to to File->UV Map ->Save. There's your template.

When you're done changing around the image you saved, make sure it's .tga, then go back to the directory where you found the .x file

open up the corresponding .fpe file (in this case "officer (machine gun).fpe") using notepad or similar program

change the texture in this file to specify the new one you made (and make sure you put the texture in that directory too!)

Thats it
