Woo, I got my fpsc today, and I made a basic 2 floor high building. Guess fpsc cant take the strain, so it lags.

Funny thing is, when I did this with the demo, I had no lag. Iam not going to say I wasted my money, because I never. I just want to know why I get lag, in basically bare rooms.

You dont need to ask me my computer specs, because their good enough to eun doom3 qauke4, and all top end games.

you might want to check what else your running.

if you run another 3d program, it could bring the speed down. i dont have speed issued that much anymore.

I think RAM is a big issue with FPSC too, it seems to use A LOT.

Indeed Bullshox... So does windows...

Can you upload the map? It is allways hard to tell what is going on without knowing what your layout is.

Its nothing to do with my specs. I have enough hardware to run any new games. So my specs arent the problem.

I might have had 3d max on, but I cant remember. So ill go make the map again and post it if I have the same lag.

This map lags at 11-14 fps. Its just a room with a desk and some storage cabnets.

I get a straight 33 fps on that map, and the computer im on right now has almost the exact same specs, exepy a 128MB geforce 5200.

don't know whats wrong, but its not fpsc, because i get 90 fps when i press X.

I had every thing set to high. I turned every thing to low and I got 33fps, and when I pressed x, I got 150 fps.

Yes I did. I also had 512 pixels set. Iam not going to use full dynamic lights, because they leave shadows on objects along their edges.

I had no problems with this room.

32-33fps everything on high, full lightmapping, dynamic lights etc.
170fps with sync disabled.

I think the problem's on your end I'm afraid.

I'm afraid the problem is really at your end. I'm not sure if my computer (AMD Athlon 2Ghz, 1Gb RAM & Radeon 9600 Pro 256Mb) can run the latests games (doubt it) fast enough to enjoy it, but your map runs 33fps with everything set the highests.

My suggestion is simple, re-install fpsc again and see what happens. I'm not sure if you removed the demo and if that has any influence on it, but I would suggest removing the demo also.

I did the reinstall, but it still just lags. Maybe ill build a new pc in the future. A monster PC that could run 10 high end games with no lag .

set your light maps to a radiaus of 345 the more light maps in a map the lower the frame rate the less light maps the better

also try rendering with full lightmaps

that should reduce the lag and get you a framerate of 33 constantly

I had full lightmaps crow, but it still lags. It never happened in the demo, but I cant be sure if I used a light in such a big room.

Uhh... looks strangly at everyone... I already solved why he lagged.

Dynamic Lights.

In case you don't know, dynamic lights, and dynamic shadows, will pull your fps down very rapidly.

The scene doesn't use dynamic lights or shadows.

Dynamic shadows can only be used with the setup.ini hack anyway. It's irrelevant in this issue.

I think Higgins has a weird problem, and I don't think it's anything to do with the settings or his computer specs.

Might be time to contact TGC.

Ill email them about it today. But when you say it doesnt use dynamic lights or shadows, the box is ticked, and I had the lights set on full.

Mabey I missinterpreted shadows though.
