Here's a question that's most likely been asked.

I tried Quark, which works fine EXCEPT in order to build a BSP you need to have certain "build tools" (which are executables) with the program, conveniently not included! Not only that, I can't seem to find those tools anywhere except at File Planet, where the links are broken!

Any suggestions? Thank you all VERY much

www.planetquake.com/quark/

They use fileplanet, and have up to date links there. I use the halflife build tools. I'm gonna email them suggesting that they make a DBP specific build tools

Sounds good, but like I mentioned, so many links at FilePlanet are broken! I'll try the half-life one, I was working on the Quake2 one. We'll see. Thanks.

I use Q3. You can download their build tools from their mod site. HL seems to have trouble working with DBPro at the mo.

Quarke does work. However you need the pak files and a script from Q3 to make Q3 levels. A pain I know. I suggest you contact Raven ( have u heard of him on these forums?) about his BSP editor called Quoole.

Just remember that there are certain licensing issues with using certain editors with certain compile tools.

I think you are ok to use a Quark/Zoners combination but I think all other compile tools require licencing to use for a commercial project.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But in practice, there is.
