Does anyone know if You can raise fps on Your Characters? I think 20 fps is a little bit to low, and it makes the animations look a little bit like cartoons when they move!

Why do you say it is 20fps?

Try turning down some of the settings by going to File then scrolling down to Preferences.
The lighting and shading effects found here normally effect frame rates on systems not able to handle them.

You missunderstood Me. Im not talking about frames p/s in the game. When You export an animated Character to fpsc You have to tell the X exporter how many frames p/s the Character itself have! Standard in fpsc is 20(!) Very low I think. If the Characters move with 30 instead of 20 fps the Enemys shourld move mutch smoother! That wourld be great right? Anyone that has tryed this yet? If not I will def. test it!!!
By the way, ChrisB is propably the most popular American in Europe!!! LOL!

Given that is only 2/3's the FPS, it isn't that low.

If the animations gets smoother I wont cry for it! Today it looks good when the enemys moves slowly, but if they run or jump it looks a bit laggy....
My opinion, if You are happy then fine........

If the FPS is low already, more FPS to the enemys won't help... although it is mainly the scripts that screw up the over all FPS

It will help to Me, Couse I am reducing models remember.. 20 or 30 fps dosnt seems to matter. but it is an enormous difference! You cant really compare to film that uses 24fps, couse they use slowshutters. We cant do that couse theese animations is in realtime... By the way, do You know how I can start a fpsc game (.exe file) without seeing the menu? Maybe its easy but I have to do this!!! Alright se ya MERRANVO....

I get 20 fps on a good day...then again I have 256MB or Ram and a Intel grahpics chip from the stone age.If you search the forums you will find several posts dealing with how to spped up fps..believe me,with the crap I am computing with,I read them all and they are all very useful.

Not changing this sig until I get rich

Yeah, stop use thoose darn segments, I build full citys in C4D and import it. You save Darn many polygons. and it looks so bloody mutch better!!!
But if You want real fast speed then You shourld have enemys under 800 polys eatch... My games always play at 33fps! But I still think that the enemys need a faster framerate....

I would have to install FPSC to tell you.

Or you can try this

::destroy

replace the entire titlepage.fpi (avialiable from build settings) with that... I think it will go directly to loading from there.

I tried something like that, but the game wourldnt start and the screen went all black. (I had to restart the comp.) Maybe I can make the button invisible and execute it via darkbasic, but it is not a good solution!

The reason there are only 25 FPS on the char anims is because PAL (the broadcast standard used in the UK) runs at 25FPS. If you want me to get technical, i waill, but only if you want me to.

No thank You. I know what PAL is, also NTSC as You use in USA. (Couse I have been working with video and film for years!)
I just dont understand why the hell the Characters must have the same fps as PAL??? And the Characters is not saved in 25fps. When I open the original Characters in fragmotion it says that they are saved in only 20fps! And that courld explain why they move so laggy sometimes... I wonder if the game engine can handle 30fps for the Characters? I will try that later........

Noop! Fragmotion is great..... Dont You think that the animations looks a bit laggy sometimes? (Often when they run and jump and move fast).
But thats cool, I just save it as 30 next time and see what happends....

I trust in Chris.

On that note, I just tested it. It works perfectally. Replace titlepage.fpi with ::destroy

and learn alt+f4 or CTRL+ALT+DEL or ALT+TAB
