Making your FPSC Game?

Bored of the same old crosshair?

Want some variety for your FPSC games?

I solve all of these problems with my new crosshair pack. "AE's Crosshair Pack" will many many different crosshairs all in a seperate folder, each with a .tga crosshair and .bmp preview.

Incase you want to go back to the original crosshair, i will also include the original boring crosshair for you old skoolers.

My crosshairs range from basic to humourous and from well-known crosshairs to exclusive designs pack especailly for this pack. Whether you're looking for a crosshair for your pistol, shotgun or bazooka, you'll be sure to find it in this new pack.

Coming soon...
######################
There's my plug for my new pack, i'm going to sell it but i'm wondering for how much. There'll probably be rough 30-40 crosshairs in the pack.

Any ideas? Suggestions?

A crosshair is the reticule/image in the center of the screen that tells you where you are shooting. Look at this pic.

Thanks RedHaired Alice! Lizzblizz, what do you mean? He is making a pack with different crosshairs so that you don't have to use the default one that looks like a plus sign (+).

Size doesn't matter, most of mine are 64x64 but some are bigger. Make sure you save it as "crosshair.dds/tga" then delete the original .dds image.

Ideas on price? Designs? etc

I think it should be free because it is pretty easy to do crosshairs.

ok what program do you use and what do you save them as in the program?

i use Adobe Photoshop and save them a .bmp then use a DDS converter to change them but they dont seem to want to work in FPSC. So do you save the as .TGA in Photoshop??

If you have photoshop, why do you save them as bmp?
Save them as tga´s or dds directly instead.

I save them as .tga's named "crosshair" and include a copy in .bmp as a preview so you can see what the crosshair looks like without opening it.

P.S: I use Paint Shop Pro

Actually, you didn't becuase when i re-saved the crosshairs with my new design they screwed up so i had to go around the houses failing at making alpha-channels first before i found a simpler way.

there's not much point in me doing animated ones because FPSC doesn't support animated textures.

Here's a pic of one of the crosshairs in-game (crosshair 2). It has been water-marked as a test for for water-marking, not to prevent you lot form steeling it (most of you wouldn't anyway).

The game it's in is Version 2 of my "Basic Training" level. Other screen shots, and eventually (when its uploaded) the level itself will be found here

Umm, you know what would be awesome! If someone made a script that would allow the crosshair, to change to a different color, kinda like America's Army! Like, have a green crosshair, then when an enemy is in view/crosshair, it turns red! Now that would be awesome!

it probably could be done with script but it might rely on you getting close enough the an enemy, not just looking in the general direction of an enemy.

Creating a crosshait in 4. steps:
1. Create a new picture.
2. Fill backgroung with true black
3. Draw image in you want your crosshair in middle of image.
4. Save your crosshair as TGA.
Sounds easy? It is
EDITED: TGA seems to be better than JPG.

If your crosshairs look good enough people will buy them if you price them reasonably.
I would rather buy them than make them unless I want one for a specific purpose. That, and you probably have more experience and do a better job of it than me.Relax...
