I know that DBpro is supposed to ask for the CD to check for security but I thought this was supposed to be about every 100 uses or so? Mine won't run at all unless the CD is in the drive, I am worried about damaging it with all that use. I can't make a backup copy (tried with Nero & Clone CD)so I am assuming there is a physical track modification somewhere. Can anyone help? I would be happy with every 100 uses or so so I'm not paying for a dongle.

It IS only once very 100 uses. This refers to the compiler, not the editor. You are probably running the editor using Launch.exe, run editor.exe on its own

Current Project: Retro Compo. Entry.

Have you downloaded patch 3.1 . Before I did that I had to have the CD in the drive.
