Yay, was wanting to see a game like this show up

I always wondered though, do they use a 3D modler for those gfx or treat them like sprites?

Because the look like sprites, but 3D...ehh...

Will you tell me? heh

It basicly depend on what GFX you are refering to. In the original Wolf3D, GFX for objects and characters were made of sprites. In my game, I've used both 3D object and plain oriented to the camera =).

In fact the wall system in wolf was not realy 3d. Its a system called Ray Casting witch is emulating 3D. If you make some research on the net you might find some more informations and even the complete TurboC source code =).

I guess I must be old, cause I didn't think of Wolfenstein3D as a retro game
