ok here is a idea of a game that I am working with, the main characters name and other things may be changed. What do you think origal? something you would play?
My FPS game:

Story line: A average man named Lee worked for a car dealer ship. He was a very mediocre man and had a wife and 2 kids. One day on the way home from work Lee stops at a intersection. As he is about to make a right turn he is struck by a oncoming semi-truck. Lee is instantly killed on Impact. Lee then sees a white blinding light and feels the warmth on his skin for just a moment. Then abruptly Lee is hurled into darkness and Pain. Lee, lying flat on his face gets up bloody and ragged finding himself on the floor in his house. He walks to the front door opens it and sees his town, but it is not normal, not at all. He walks outside and across the street to the local gun shop once inside he finds a shotgun and some ammo. Armed with these weapons and his wits about him he ventures of to see why he is alive and what is going on.

Well, say that he hears some screaming and other things before he goes to the gunshop. I mean if that happened to me I would just walk outside unarmed, maybe have a rock or a piece of sharp metal.

More or so like beetle juice, the movie, but in that, they cant leave their home and they dont get hit by a var, they crash into a wooden inclosed bridge to get out of the way of a dog, the car then falls in and they die, but dont relise it.

Pretty much like your story.

Iam being a narky 3d modeller. I dont think iam very happy. Comment my signature and raise my unhappy metre.

Hehe, im going to go rambaling on what i think would be cool.

And so, armed with his shotgun and his wits, Lee stes out of the gunshop. As he invetigates the downtown precicnt, and arrow flies into a poll right next to him. He wheels around and sees a little darkskinned man with a blow gun! *CH CH BOOM* the little man is blown apart but then 10 more run up! Lee makes a run for it!!!!!


this all makes no sence! begginging sounds good, i juts wanted to mess it up! jk, im ina silly mood tO mUcH cAfFiNe!1!

Oh, man that sounds like my idea(except instead of an intersection, theres a cliffside road route and instead of wakin up in his house, hes in hell)
all the more reason that this is a good idea.
will there be cutscenes?

You don't have to be insane to answer my questions, but it helps

sounds ok i love lucidnightmares it makes sence to what,how and why it happend setting the plot and events are great! the begining intro is loooonnnngggg!!! about at least 7-11 minutes people say its very Silmular to Silent Hill

Hi,

It sounds intriguing, reminds me a little of White Wolf’s Wraith: The Oblivion. In this dieing was just the beginning, it just took me a while to figure out I was dead.

If you want to keep the player a little uncertain as to what’s going on I’d suggest keeping the areas (early level) only subtly different from what would be considered normal and then gradually make it stranger leading to the point where the player learns whatever the truth might be. You could back this up by suggesting that the further away the player gets from normally familiar environments that his memories are not strong enough to keep things looking normal and instead appear as they are in this new reality.

As far as lucidity is concerned (as Lizblizz mentioned), if you want the player to gradually find things out then they would not be lucid (aware) in the beginning and would build up to a lucid state throughout the game.

Just a suggestion.
