This tutorial will teach you how to import all of your levels from Cartography shop levels in to the FPSC engine.

*note- I recomend creating a new folder in the entitybank/user folder for each new object/level you import*

Here are the steps.

Create a standard room with one texture for the room
Create and place two boxes (a different texture from the room texture) in the room you just created
Go to file and then to export
Type in a file name (example "room") and then select .x for type of export
Select the folder you created in the entitybank/user, and then hit enter

*note- Open the folder you just exported the room in, you will notice that there is two .x files and two .bmp files DO NOT DELETE ANY OF THEM!

Now the .fpe script

You can get the .fpe file by selecting another folder in the entitybank folder. Next right click any .fpe file and click on copy then paiste it in the folder that has your new room in it. Open the .fpe file and then edit the name to what you called your object (example "room") then you will see something that has a .x after it change that to the name of your object.x (example "room.x") then in the last section of the .fpe file you should see something that says texture go ahead and delete what is typed to the right of the = symbol. Do not put anything in its place. then click on file and then save as (make sure you set the save as type to ALL FILES. and then type in the name of the object example "room" and hit enter.

Open up FPSC and then go to the entity menu and then user and then select your new room place it in the map and then a player marker and then test your game. you now have a multiple textured room.

3D World Studio is a lot better. So, buy 3DWS and use the RF's 3DWS tutorial...

You could have saved a few bucks because DeleD 3D Editor LITE (www.delgine.com) also works with FPSC and is totally free. PRO version is of course a lot better though.

Use the free 3D modeller DeleD to get skilled in 3d editing! Visit http://www.delgine.com for more info.
