Hey all, I was just looking through websites, and I found this guy's work. It's unbelieveable. Just check it out. You won't regret it.

there good, seen way way better, ive got a 3ds max book, theres models of cars and tower bridge and stuff in there that are photographic, infact even though its an official 3ds max book, saying these are models by people and giving details, im still only 80% convinced that they are infact models.

im back.

those are some great looking models... nice link d...

don't pay any attention to these people who like to use the phrases 'it looks like crap' and 'it sucks' so often when critiquing other peoples work.... most of them couldn't model a cube properly themselves, and wouldn't admit it even if someone elses work looked really good in the first place, not that they'd even be able to recognize good work in the first place...

Cgtalk.com does has some REALLY good realistic work, but I love the cartoony style of http://blenderaki.byethost3.com/index.htm's work. Especially since he did it in Wings 3d. that's geat.

They are good, however by doing it in wings doesn't make it better, because, wings is good enough for someone to make that sort of quality, theres just not so much work to showcase that

I couldn't do better, but it's still just slightly less than nothing special.

Probably Red October had to say something offensive because he had it on his mind. Lol, if he hadn't, I would probably have done it since I totally agree with him. People coming along with arguments as 'it sucks', probably can't come up with arguments of more worth.

This guy's made some impressive work, taking in consideration the software used. Nice link

I just wish I was able to do something half as "bad" as these. I think they're great - he is obviously a talented artist.

Why is there a constant need for others to criticise?

Yes but there is nothing spectacular there, I mean dabip said himself that it was "unbelieveable", it's really good, but nothing extraordinary.

What made you think he used wings? This is work made in blender, just look at the wires. Plus I recognize some of those renders from blender's gallery. Not to mention that the site has the word blender in it.

It was modeled in Wings. and rendered in Blender on some. But I love that style of 3d drawing. That's why its unbelieveable.

its alright work, but as other's have said not spectacular. things like the sex scene in fightclub are spectacular (http://www.mentalimages.com/4_1_motion_pictures/index.html 2 thirds of the way down)

things like this are spectacular

http://forums.cgsociety.org/forumdisplay.php?f=121

i was just gonna post one of my favourite from CG talk, but i thought i might as well link the whole choice gallery

having said that, this guy's models are nice, clean meshes and they're well realised... hats off to him!

I don't have a sig, live with it.

I just have to say that a lot of the people that have posted here are quite good 3d modellers. But even though Red Oktober lashed out, Ive been know to be in a bad mood about something and take it out on something entirely different. And to all you up and coming artists, keep at it. Also even if a model isnt the most detailed in the world, if it has a clean and efficient mesh, great texture and achieves what its maker set out to achieve, then it is a good model in my book.

Kudos

@Manic, with the use of the word spectacular made me think the CGTalk link was to the spectacular compo, damn you and your misleading ways
