My GOD how many people are in Atlanta, GA! I think we are up to like 8 or 9. We really need to have a convention here.

I can write a generic flashlight or wait for R9. humm

Well..I put the script in the scriptbank/user and your flashlight texture which was a dds instead of a tga in the languagebank/gamecore/huds. Then I made a small level and then I made my final build of it and it didn't show up after laying my finger on the Enter key forever. So what did I do wrong?

As long as it's around Feb 10-28 I can go. Most other times I am too tied up to breathe.

hi ! the level is cool...and the effect also.
buuuut....thats no flashlight ?!? it looks like when pressing enter key for 2 seconds , some dynamic lights are turned on ( like a switch ) and your overlaying a black HUD. so....thats a nice trick

yeah...thats the ticket !

The demo is OK I guess. First thing I noticed was that you could actually use the 'flashlight' without having the physical flashlight. Also, I assume the reason you have to hold the 'use' key for 2 seconds is so you can still use the 'use' key for opening doors etc...?

I'm not sure about the lens flare either. It's also impossible to tell when it gets light, so you'd have the torch on all the time.

Anyway, it's a lot better than I could do, as I wouldn't know where to start, so for that I give it the thumbs up.

repeat after me, you are not a developer.

@RaymondJ
It's a playable demo. I'm not sure what you're doing. The light asigned to the flashlight in the level has to be named correctly and use the proper script. If you can figure it out, your welcome to it. The script is a re-write of Conjured's original.

@Lizblizz
No, I did'nt want to post a pick and get a million questions. I thought it better to let people try it and get some opinions before taking it further.

@Mr Flowerkohl
Smoke and mirrors, my friend....it's all smoke and mirrors.

@jacko101
Yeah, not great but usable. Hopefully CB will have something out soon. If not, we may work on it more. Maybe give it some green and turn it into Night Vision Goggles or something.

@Antimatter games
Yes, it is a re-write of Conjured's original.

Yeah, a great idea Mr Flowerkohl!

This should work:

Attach this to the dynamic light.

*EDIT* You have to make the light an enemy so attach this in the 'white light' FPE:

EPL,

Really enjoyed your demo. I think this is a great element to add to a game. Very well done. Do you think you might try the night vision effect with this. Great job.

jacko101 Yea, I discovered that by adding the flashlight.fpi to a model makes the flashlight fx work in the test and the final build.
