I've done far too much organic modelling, so I am going to leave it alone at the moment (so I'll come back to Yojimbo later) and am going to attempt to touch up my skills on non organics, started with this crappy mech, based on one from Deus EX 2 (Never played it, but I found a good ref image for it)

Render, dunno why I put the bump map on it, it looks aweful

Render (differant angle) Looks better without the bump map

Render (Front)

Up close to the gun

Wires

I would give the poly count, but I can't be bothered to re-open C4D so I'll tell you guys with the next up date

Thats looking pretty good, ive never played deus x so I can't recognize it. Are you planning on giving the back part any thickness?

I'd love a mech compo since organics in my weakness.

In the constructive comments department... Nice mech so far, but ammo feed is a bit weak. Do some research and you find that many ammo feeds are like an extruded rectrangle with rounded corners and lots of ribs. The ammo runs inside of that flexible structure.

Tip: go to Google and do an image search on 'ammo feed'.

K kewl, it actually feels easier than I thought at this stage, so good luck with yours

Go nuts, of cause thats if you do win, I thinks its a good idea, have an equal share of organics and non organics

Thanks, yeah sure I'll look at some, to be honest I hate guns and military crap (Why am I modelling a mech then? ) so I've never looked at one before really, so the help is appreciated.

I love modeling in C4d. I f I am not forced to work in Max that is the program of my choice. It also feels a lot like Maya.

Anyway here is an incredible .x exporter for C4d. I beta tested it, and it is solid.

BTW it is FREE!!!!!!

It's really nice Sepp. And I think the bump map made the area behind the gun look pretty...
