Hi,

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed dodgy lines and fuzzes going through text in DBPro.

I tried a text program in DB Classic and it worked fine, I then tried it in DB Pro and it nacked up and I couldn't read it.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Hmmm...I've had problems with the text being too big and you couldn't change the size, but it probably has gone now with patch 4.

Increase the resolution to 800x600 or better, that should help.

if you mean that sometimes you get an underscore on some of the letters then yes, i have had this problem.
Unfortunately i am one of those people who just put up with it and wait for patch 10 to come out with a fix ![img][/img]
it only happens when you use text FIRST but if you start using text with 3d in the background the problem goes [img][/img]

I have a word of advice...
..don't piss on an electric fence!

No-one has actually reported this as a bug to us yet, it's not on any of the lists I've seen so waiting for it to magically be fixed in Patch10 isn't such a hot idea - I've never experienced this - if you do, send me the code and we'll take it from there. Don't assume things will get fixed, most of the time they are specific to your setup and require far more investigation before a solution can be found.

Cheers,

Rich

Well, my code in the Code Snippets board (the infamous COUNTER-STRIKE one) is where my text goes really big and you can't change it, in case you want to know.

That's B.S. I did in an e-mail to Lee.

Look at this list (#11).

I checked my emails...
You guys need to be better organized.
It seems I was wasting my time.

Subject: Another love note

Hey I'm always giving you some bad news.
This time is not much different except,
I just want to tell you that I think that you are a genius.
And like the vast majority of true genius,
the beauty your work will be unappreciated by most.

Now back to the battle........

The "Bookman Old Style" font is widely used as it gets installed by M$ Word97
(and probably the newer vesions of office as well).

Code:

Set Text Font "Bookman Old Style"
Set Text To Bold
Set Text Size 48
Ink Rgb(255,255,255),0
Center Text Screen Width()/2,Screen Height()/2,"Little bits."
Sync
Wait Key
End

The top line of the pictured results is from a DarkBASIC 1.09 exe.
The bottom line is from DB Pro/Patch 1.3.
All printed instances of lower case "i" have a graphics intrusion (from the neighboring "j" ?)
But other apps do not exhibit this glitch with this font.
These extra bits occur in other fonts as well.
And on other computers.
These bits occur in other fonts as well.
