You have the Enhancement Packs correct? The only thing that was needed to compile using 5.9 was the Enhancement Pack and to add something to fpsc-050.ini file (the readme that was released with the Source Code told you what to add).
Here is the Readme file:

You will require the DBPro programming language, and upgrade 5.9 installed
in order to compile this source code and produce the FPSC-Game.exe.
You can obtain both product and upgrade from 'www.thegamecreators.com'

1. You CANNOT make 'game creation' or 'level editor' software with this code
2. You CANNOT make a 'game engine' for the purpose of selling it as an engine
3. You CAN make a GAME with this source code for the purpose of selling it

* Note that the FPSC game engine relies on functionality provided by the Enhancements expansion pack, if you do not have this pack the source code will not compile, you can find out more information about the expansion pack here http://darkbasicpro.thegamecreators.com/?f=enhancementpack
* For those who already own the Enhancements pack you will need to update to the latest version, this can be found in your order history on the web site
* If you build your own version of the game you may find a problem with a subscript out of bounds, if this is the case look in the languagebank\english\textfiles folder and modify fpsc-050.ini so that the number is 629 instead of 625, now open fpsc-050.txt and add lines to the end of the file like this -
