i dont have a geforce graphics card so could you tell me what vertex shading does. what its purpose is and what it looks like. Nowhere in dbpro help files does it actually say what it does. [img][/img]
I have a word of advice...

"Vertex Shaders: Used to breathe life and personality into characters and environments. For example, through vertex shading you can create true-to-life dimples or wrinkles that appear when a character smiles or you can ripple shockwaves through a land matrix"

Hey Frobscottle

Vertex Shading is an effect that is done on the pointy part(vertices)of a triangle. It lets you assign different colors, lighting or textures to each corner of the triangle instead of across the entire surface. It also allows you to deform the shape of the triangle. A flat polygon can be made to ripple up and down and create a water effect for example. In a Nutshell they are used for special effects and to create the illusion of realism in a model. Check out Nvidia's or ATI's site for more examples

so even though everyone talks about using Nvidia cards for Pro, we can still get the same effect with ATI cards?

You're ate up like a soup sandwich.
