The texture cannot be used for

Megaton Cat, do you have permission to use these textures in your pack and do you allow your pack to be used in commercial games? If you do not have permission, you may be in direct violation with the textures terms of usage.

I know you can use it in free games, but do you tell that your costumers and people who download the free pack also? No, you don't and that's a direct violation of the TOU, you should restrict the usage of your packs to personal and free game use only.

I would, if I bothered to remember, or if people cared, or if the original author of the textures cared. I don't take credit for the textures anywhere, I did this on my own time for people to use in their personal games. If there was any importent legal info to mention, I would have long done so.

I just can't believe your attitude. You use the texture and even though you do not take credit for them, you do encourage people to even use them in commercial projects..... that's wrong, you know the original texture creator doesn't allow that.

Quote: "Simple answer: You're getting a load of usable and tested Fantasy Building Models. Once you purchase these models: They are completely yours. You can edit them, use them in commercial projects , rip them apart."

Even if the original author doesn't care, it's still wrong. Do you expect him to track down all of the usage of the textures he creates?

Heh. You're getting ahead of yourself bud.

The second pack I just linked uses commercial-approved textures, bought & licensed from the creator himself.

The Free Fantasy Pack doesn't encourage such thing, and is for personal projects.

It really isn't that complicated. : /

Whatever, there's enough fighting on this board already, so I'll refrain from getting drawn into one.

Megaton... perhaps the ANJL should takeover.

Ben A, Megaton has been... well... I can't say much, but lets just say he has a very good name and reputation. Now, don't you think that if there was even the slightest doubt he would contact the creator for legal issues?

And if you believe Megaton is still at fault, David Gurrea's email address is on that site, email him with your concerns, and let him decide.

I've do so already and the owner contacted him by now and here's his answer:

Quote: "I was taking a look to the place and I found this person is distributing my
textures with the model packets without mentioning where they're coming from
or the limitations of use. Even the textures have the same name that in my
website.

Well, that's the risk when you distribute free stuff over Internet, there is
allways somebody abusing of it.

Anyway, I've informed this person about the breaking of limitations of my
place, and asked him to put my textures out of this packets.

Thanks again.

Cheers

David"

No, he probably wouldn't, read Megaton's posts in this thread, he cares less.

Unfortunally these things happen way to often around here, bringing the community down.

Yes, although Megaton should really have credited thie original texture creator on his site. He has done so here, however, so everything should be fine. Case closed.
