Hello,

I've read all the previous threads, looked at the tutorials, searched the web, tweaked the controls in Panda Xporter, but (call me dumb if you want) I can't manage to export my model to a .X without loosing the animation when I load it up in DBP ...
I think that the problem comes from the fact the model isn't rigged and doesn't have bones: It's just a plain with two "waves" deformers (max file here: http://keleb.free.fr/codecorner/download/models/waves.zip ).
I've already exported other models (with bones) and it worked perfectly, but this one... It just drives me mad !

Can you help me please ?
(config: 3ds Max 8, Panda Xporter 4.8.61.0, DBP 5.9)

Ideas: memories of things which did not occur yet...

the wave deformer, along with any other deform modifier in max will not be exported as .x. Panda doesn't do it, DirectX doesn't do it, no real time engine will do it. The only place you'll see it work, is in max.

DX needs bones to deform verts.

and to save you some time, you won't be able to put a bone structure onto the plane, and then apply the modifier to the bones, as that won't work either. The only thing you can do for this, is to code the waves yourself using DBP's new vert manipulation commands

I don't have a sig, live with it.
