I've been trying out a demo for the speed modeller called Hexagon, it appears to be the right choice for speed modellers as the new version (Coming out later) Has more feature than Silo and can do what Zbrush does, and is easier than Zbrush (IMO) and doesn't crash like Modo, and is the second most affordable, so incidently I plan to pre order the new version.

And for this model, someone must of spiked my tea this morning, because it was just so randomly made, but it took me pretty quick to model it and with the programs enhance open gl renderer, it editable at over 40k polies on my system with out slowing down too much, and from what it appears the new version has a much much fast open gl renderer which they tested on a 3ghz with an average gfx card got into the millions before it slowed down, and compared to the current version it had to go into the 100's of 1000s to slow down.

Any way heres the model from the demo

Thanks Sunrise, last I checked the site was down, but $199 isn't too bad once I sell those unwanted games to add onto my £80

The interface reminded me of when I tried the carrara demo - oh wait... It's made by the same people I could never use that program

They had a free version of carrara 2 with last months 3D world mag, unfortunately they stop selling that a few days a go and I missed it.

The interface for Hexagon is pretty easy, then again it isn't too differant to that of Cinema 4D, which might be why I got around it so quick

[edit]
This tool is reminding me of what is like to be a newb, you make weird objects that lack proportions and any type of accuracy and make things completely using the extrude tool

Well I tried a dragon of some sort with a screwed up tail, no fingers, claws, mouth or toes or any good looking wings for that matter

It is a pretty cool app, I mean after three attempts I'm almost back to how I model, but this time at faster rate of modelling, plus its more accurate to the referance image and is easier than before

Ya think? Thanks, I thought it sucked because it was a quicky try to see what I could do with the sweep and extrude tools with a high level of subdivision
