Here is a model for a static object that I made tonight:

156 polys, 512x512 texture

I am very happy with it, I think it is some of my best work so far, mostly the texture. Thank you so much to whoever it was who mentioned the burn and dodge tools in Photoshop a while ago on here. Can't remember who it was...but they sure do help alot in shading.

Here's another object I made today, it is a memory slot type thing, also for a static object on the map:

26 polys, 512x512 texture

It's not as impressive...but at least I'm getting faster, 2 models in one day

not bad - but where are its legs? lol

as for the texture, the silver part at the top is usually a constant colour - like the - bit on the side and it might look a bit better if u put a very small shadow between the plastic wraping(the label) and the actual metal

Oh, well, it doesn't need terminals since the bottom of it will be so close to the ground. Just extra polys...

Yeah, I did try putting in a shadow, I guess I didn't do it dark enough. I'll get on that..

Thanks!

Here are my updates

@IanG: I took your advice about the top. I thought that some capacitors looked a little bit "galvanized" on top, but this way looks better anyway, and I put more shadow on too.

my old DT teacher once made a capacitor out of a dustbin, he melted two spanners together with it by accident.

I don't have a sig, live with it.
