i dont know about you guys, but i absolutely HATE the metal floor walking sound. its really loud and annoying, so i changed it.
here is how i did it:

1. go to audiobank\materials directory. make a temp directory there.
2. copy 2metalA1.wav, 2metalA2.wav, 2metalA3.wav and 2metalA4.wav to the temp directory.
3. rename them to something like 2metalA1save.wav so you can save the files.
4. copy 3woodA1.wav thru 4 to the temp dir. i used the wood floor files.
5. rename them 3woodA1.wav as 2metalA1.wav. do all 4 this way.
6. move the new metal files back to the materials directory.

thats it! the metal floors will sound like walking on the wood floors.
yeah, i know its not REALISTIC. but its WAY LESS ANNOYING.

one other way of doing it may be to use a wave file editor and lower the volume of the soundfile. you still get the metal clang a clang but its less annoying.

The important point you make is that those sound files can be replaced, changed, etc. You can make your own if you like.
