Yes objects beyond the camera range donot appear on screen. However there is no improvement in fps for smaller camera ranges reducing the amount of polygons appearing on screen.

Also objects off screen are still contributing to lower fps. In DB you could set
levels always to show a certain distance and set the camera range just beyond it and acheive quicker fps. You can't do this in Pro! Is it a DX8 thing?

Has noone else noticed this?

Did you try makin' it that if an object as out of camera view then the object will be hidden? In theory this would work work and definitely speed up FPS.

Hiding an object does not improve performance although it should really increase fps. I really think it is a bug that needs to be reolved.

That reminds me of another point. Does anyone know how to code a routine that controls the LOD (Level of Detail) of each models in the world? If I am not wrong, I think DBpro doesn't have this feature built-in. I know a few ways to control the LOD of each model theoritically. One way is to decrease the faces of a model by eliminating some vertices. But I am wondering whether this can be done in DBpro as I have no access to the vertex list of each model.

Any advice will be much appreciated!

Experiments have shown me recently that the problem is only happening when I make an object in DB rather than loading one in.

When I load x objects they are excluded from the rendering.
