FPSC Classic Models and Media / Using Half-Life 2 models in FPSC... How is this done??? What modeler is used??

Hi guys,

Im' just curious to ask of you guys if any of you have managed to
use any of the Half-Life 2 models from the game, And import them into FPSC?? What process is needed in order to do this? What modeler program or utility program is used in order to use the Half-Life 2 models? I dont have a clue, That's why Im' hoping somebody that has done this before will step in and explain this process...

3DS Max or Maya can be out of some people's reach financially speaking here! There has to be other cheaper modeling programs that will also fit the bill. Not everyone can afford the likes of 3DS Max or Maya or Lightwave 3D.... So what else is there that us poor folks can use to accomplish the same given task?!? Any information on this matter would be greatly appreciated very much so! Thanks..

Out of all due respect here guys, These replies that you have given me hasn't answered the question given above. Here's the question once more, Please read it carfully please... Not being sarcastic, Or seeming to be... Im' just trying to get others on here to understand what is being asked of them.. Here's the question:

I know that there has to be a process in order to extract the Half-Life 2 models from the actually game, And convert them or whatever means in order to import them into FPS Creator as they have been done already.. Im' merely asking how it is done is all... This is what I need to know! And hopfully there is alternatives for thoes that may not own a copy of 3DS Max or Maya... There has to be another way to do this! I need to know a process, Not given answers on things that may or may not work... Please post something that will help a guy out that is in need of knowing please... Id' appreciate it very much! Thank's again guys!

make the fpi make the texures .dds make a 64 x 64 bmp tag
get the file in .x and the animations ready
export...

Bloodeath, That wasn't what I meant here...

I was meaning the steps involved in extracting Half-Life 2 models from the actual game itself. Then decompiling the models i assume... then getting the models into the correct modeling application, Then exporting the models in the proper format for FPS Creator in order to use them in FPSC... That's what i meant!!!

I already understand the steps you just made from earlier from a different post...

no body knows how to do that lol, the Half Life 2 Zombie was only found on a website from some person and then Bond1 added animation to it

Yeah someone just posted the static model and I added the animation in 3ds max.

But I suspect if you Google "Half-Life 2 model decompiler" you'll probably find what you're looking for.

Yeah I found some tools just yesterday guys...

If anybody is interested in the tools & also the tutorials on how to extract Half-Life 2 models & also decompile them for use in any modeling application, The link is here:

Im' glad I found this website so I can share with the rest of you FPSC'er out there.. I hope everybody that see's this post can get some good out of this.

As a special note, I found some of the links on this that didn't bring up all the needed programs in order to complete the process of extracting & decompiling the Half-Life 2 models. But if you type in the name of the program that you was trying to click on on that web-page into Google. Google will bring up a list in it's search with the needed links to the programs you need in order to do this!

FPS-Files.com might want to consider hosting these Utility programs files for thoes that might also want to extract Half-Life 2 model files and either Mod them for thier own FPSC creations, Or whatever else comes up... Just a suggestion though. Have fun guys..
