I would like to know if anyone besides the creator of fpsc or any affiliates has ever made a fully functional game. I bought the program and both packs. I haven't received it yet but every minute that passes I grow skeptical of the program. I have had so many crashes with the demo it's not even funny. From what I have read fpsc does nothing about it.

The closest thing to tech support has been this forum which is loaded with non-sense bickering back and forth that usually has nothing to do with the original thread.

I am not looking for someone to out do me in knowledge or answer my question with another question. But, I want to know if there is a paying customer who has actually made a fully functional game using fpsc ONLY!!

ps. don't be so stupid to ask me what the specs of my pc are regarding the crashes. The problems are not with my computer.

Look in the Showcase forum. If you are having problems with the demo crashing it would probably help if you posted what the error was or a screenshot. Also people want to know your pc's specs because sometimes it helps them figure out what the error is.Don't assume you don't have a problem because you think you have a supercomputer.
I have 247MB or RAM and an out of date Intel graphics chip and it works on my pc.Have you ever thought of uninstalling or reinstalling the demo?Since you obviously aren't sure of what is going on don't assume it isn't your pc.Although there's a good chance it isn't.Do you have the latest graphics drivers for your pc?
You might check that too.
You also haven't told us what you have done or are trying to do before the crashes. That would help too.And not all of our threads are like that.If you post some information we could probably point you in the right direction.Keep in mind the demo does have some limitiations so if you are trying to do something the demo doesn't do it will crash.I would wait until I got the full version installed to make any final judgements. At any rate,I bought the full version and both model packs and I am happy with it.There are some minor points of contention but you can probably read about those on the other threads.
Like I said try the Showcase forum.I recommend "The Undead" demo and I have a demo you can download. There are other good ones too.You might find a shortage of full games on there though there are a few. That is because they just released the full version of FPSC in February.Making games takes time.Congratulations on buying FPSC and I hope you have fun with it!

I've finished 2 projects by now.... full working ones even, with FPSC only.

The first one is a 6 level 3D Teaching Enviroment with mini games in it, more like puzzles. It was created for a non-for-profit organization, so I'll doubt you'll ever see it.

The second one I just finished. It's a game and has 14 levels and 1 game explanation level and 2 security levels (no, I'm not going to tell what those are, you need to wait until the release). The game runs fine on the computers I've tested it on. The actually release date isn't set, but I do hope to give more details next week.

Btw.... the game isn't just a stock game. All wall/floors/ceilings/landscapes are newly created by me. New weapons, new enemies, new items. Used some of the stock items also, but most of the stuff is new..... even the scripts involved.

It took me a whole day to light a level correctly. Game making takes time. You can slam things together in FPS and have a game ready in minutes - but it takes months to make something good.

Why on earth did you buy FPSC if your demo was letting you down? And both packs? Ummm....

I've had numourous probs with FPSC myself, but there is usually away around them. Game making is fustrating.

Yes, frustating-but in the end when you see the beautiful creation you have made, it really makes you feel proud and good about ourself, considering how much work you put into it, you just get a really good feeling.

It won't happen in the Menu Monster rebuild either...
The difference? Mine is cheaper. 10 cents to the charity of your choice.

Mr. Love, don't spam the boards. And explain, what does a save/load system have to do with FPSC Errors.

drew4663 It's nice to meet you. Well at least Ben A has something worth wild, finished and not bad. To answer that question more in detail: "The Conspiracy", Which is my game, Will hit the stores commericaly late the summer or fall. And yes the demo has been known to crash because it is just that..A demo, A buggy, buggy demo. Even V1 has it's charm..But what can you do? TGC say there underway on working on I guess is a "patch?" Or its just the same thing with some new stuff with even more bugs..I don't know. We here at IAG are doing the best we can to even the odds with the program and I hope things work out with that ever you decide to do with FPSC to. So welcome to hell er, Ther fourms
and be well.

I have been using the demo and get no crashes at all and I have been using it non stop for days now. Don't get too skeptical about the program. I think if you put in the work you can make a good game with it. From what I can tell so far anyway. I bought the software and the 2 model packs too. I like original art, but if there is something I can use and it just takes some modification to fit the game that is great too.

Be happy with your purchase and be sure to update your video drivers.

Let's not do this again, Mr. Love...

FPSC has errors, but I hear they're being worked on. Overall, for the price, I think you'll be very satisfied with it. I am.

I really appreciate all the feedback! It is certainly reassuring hearing testimonies of success. I have the software and two packs installed and have had minimal to no problems (knock on wood)!

Reading some of the forums though really tears fpsc down. It has it's quirks but good Lord what an awesome tool. The packs are a huge improvement. For those who have been kind enough to respond and for the sake of not starting a new thread or searching....Can you import your own characters and AI script without using dark basic? If so, how? Your input would be greatly appreciated.

As far as "I has returned" thank you for your input. My pc specs are as follows:

Dell XPS 600 customized
Processor/Display
Pentium® D Processor 930 with Dual Core Technology (3.0GHz, 800FSB)

Operating System
Genuine Windows® XP Media Center 2005 Edition

Video Card
Dual 512MB nVidia GeForce 7900 GTX

Memory
1GB3 Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz- 2 DIMMs

Hard Drive
160GB3 Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) w/ Native Command Queuing

2 month old machine.

Hope this helps. The crashes I received never gave any error messages for the demo. It would just close out. What was I doing? Rendering, adding prefabs, undoing an operation, etc. The full version though hasn't given me any trouble.

To get back to your original question..... I did say I finished a game, I promised more details next week.

Next week has come and so has the game, I did release it, http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=78354&b=25

So, now you've got some proof that users can create a full game with FPSC. I'm not related to TGC at all, just a plain old user.

Why not search, honestly? You'll save yourself a lot of grief if and when the main forum flamers find this thread. But to answer your question, yes, you can, and for exact directions as to how, it is detailed better than I could do in the manual. The manual came with your FPSC. It's an Adobe file.

Good luck and happy mapping.
