I got bored so I had a go at a tank, I havent modelled in ages.
not for any project, practice effort.

560 polys | 256 x 256 texture map.

polys in milkshape
UV in unwrap 3d
texture in photoshop

greyscale texture method allows application of any colour hue in seconds after the greyscale concept is created.

1 hour poly twaddling
2 hours uv wrapping
5 hours tweaking the texture.

looks alright indi, but your mapping looks a bit bendy along the sides, and its also worthy of note that doing greyscale>Change Hue won't give you the best colour reproduction.

I'd add some dirt to the texture to make it a bit more interesting.
