You are currently under a noob-slap. This expires on the 5th.

If you mind your language and attitude it won't be extended.

@Raymond J,

Your childish attitude and threats are what put you into approval status to start with. This will expire on the 5th unless it is renewed. It will not be removed before then.

You tell him, IanM!

What the hell you going to do? E-mail them with a threat to kill their family if they don't close it down?! All that's going to get you is an arrest warrant. You got a n00b slap. Just accept it and move on. Wait for the expiry date instead of acting like a 4 year old.

Yeah, Raymond's gone a little whack.

Anyway, that message... does it only come up when you're under a Newbie Slap or not at approved status? Because I joined long before the flame protection system was implemented, and I have never been Newbie Slapped, but I'm positive I've seen the message before.

Thats a forum bug, not something mods should deal with or be harrassed about, same as approval status. We can't switch it off on demand, and why would we? - because your (Raymondo) posting so sensibly now?

See, that seems to be a guiding factor in all of these gripes, the fact that mods are harassed when it's really out of their control - people who know the forums know what the moderators do and why, people who can't get the basics like this into their heads tend to blow up, like Raymond has. Pop!fzzzzzzzzzzzz..... Another game designer lost, another McDonalds employee is born, it's the circle of life indeed.

He might be back, with a better attitude, it's happend so often before all over the forum. It's fine really, as long as people cool down there's usually no problems with returns - name changes do help in extreme cases.

Because Raymond is gonna check back in a couple of weeks and wish he hadn't acted like this.

I agree fully wth Van B on every part of this issue he stated. Fun circle of life... Gwahahahaha! The harrasment of someone for an error or a bug which is out of their control of line of duty is worth a newbie slap in my opinion. However, he already IS on a newbie slap so I guess I will leave my opinion on the matter kept to myself.

Van B,
You are showing some amazing restraint by not locking both of these threads. You have been more than fair.
I feel sorry for anyone who has to be a mod.

Although this is kind of fun to watch as it unfolds (as are most of Ray's "episodes"); you've got to understand that your behaviour isn't earning you any sympathy with anyone. Try the Decaf Ray

Raymond hasn't replied so I assume he has gone, but I find myself surprised at you, Van B-taunting him. As a mod, you should know better.

Should I just ban him then, what would that proove?

Right now he has the choice to just get on with it, forums have a short memory - or he can just linger. He should know that he issued threats and we're keeping an eye on him, that's all - hardly taunting someone if they're still here.

I didn't have to approve his post, I doubt anyone else would have bothered, if I spot a regular post of his I'll approve it, he's only newbie slapped.
