I modelled two things from red alert, the tesla coil and the pill box. I modelled these for an enemy territory map Iam planning to make. I wanted to share the models with you. Tell me what you think.

Very nice.

The textures are a little plain, but get the job done, depending on what type of game you're making.

Also, maybe you could weld the vertices of the second model, unless you're going for that look of flat shaded

I haven't even played Red Alert...pretty bad, considering I bought the new C&C pack of all 12 games about a month ago. I just haven't had the time.

i agree, especially since they had none :p.

the lighting on the models makes them a bit hard to see but they look fairly good, the pillbox needs to have smooth groups/welded verts as you can currently see all the edges and the textures could dow tih some more stuff, like maybe dirt towards the bottom of the pillbox.

Hallowed are the ori.

Thanks for the comments. The models are only going to go into a free game, for a custom map. I dont really need to worry about the major things. But If I was going to put them in a new game, id take up your ideas.

Welding the vertices like dark coder and I suggested isn't a very difficult thing to do, and makes models look 10 times better in my opinion

The pillboxes where made from one cylinder, with smooth taken off. Just to note, they are welded, its just that there is no smooth applied. I would make them better, but like I said above, they are for a free game, which I am making a custom map for.

Ill post the buildings when they are textured.

Update your drivers, or get a new graphics card.

lol, more like new monitor.

but seriously ssigning smoothing groups is quicker than you replying to this topic, and depending on how closeup the camera will get the tesla coil might be a bit too highpoly.

believe me, my monitors fine, but its a lot easier to see a darkly textured object, on a white, or grey background

I can see it just fine and by putting it on a white back ground wond do any thing different, just fool your eyes.
