while i'm still on my v high, I thought i'd post here instead of hijacking the compo thread....

took me like two hours, it's fully rigged and I am animating it now, awesomest ever! so anyway yes I decree a pirates vs vikings game where they battle it out in armies of foot troops and mechs. SUCCESS!!

edit: one problem with MS rigging is that I have to animate it to turn the chest and arms, which means it either walks or turns, unless someone can tell me how to set it to two different bone structures with turning to be handled by coding. Or mayhaps I have the legs and chest two separate models, and in the game you put legs to upper torsos to customize your mech. I quite like the sound of that last one, I think I'm gonna do that, just make like a set of legs which I already made, 1 set of wheels (to replace legs) and then like 3 upper torsos, that way I animate the legs with just one walk anim, the coding handles the lower torso turning, and the wheels are pretty much the same thing. Then teh upper bodies are more complex as they have arms to move to follow a target with say mouse control. SO sayeth that I were to make a body that doesn't turn (anim wise) but the arms raise and lower, how do I rig it to do such with mouse control? wait, in that case, it would be simpler to make the arms infact separate, and interchangeable, so mouse x controls body twist, mouse y controls arm up and down. HOLY CRAP THIS IS SOUNDING CREPE PAPER SIMPLE!! off to work I go....

You know this game would be unibeleiveabley fun! yes, unibeleiveabley is a word. Are the vikings and pirates IN the mechs or are they running about the feet of the mechs, or when the mechs are destoryed do they 'have at you' as in ancient time? Can they bellow war cries? CAN THE MECHS BELLOW WAR CRIES?!?!?!?! that would be cool. Wow.

Good idea Wiggett

thanks, yeah they are in mech for now, cause it'd be beasty to have to code the two formats, I wanna focus on getting teh mech cotnrol done first with blowing the crap out of each other with 1 of 4 weapon choices,
(30mm cannon standard on all outfits)
Hellfire ChainGun:

hellfire chaingun, Has a high rate of fire, lowest damage capacity

Lazer:

this powerful weapon comes twin linked, it has a medium rate of fire, and medium damage capacity.

LRM:

The LRM, has the slowest rate of fire, launches 5 rockets from each arm at a time (2 shots), causes heavy damage on direct hits.

I haven't textured the chests yet but I have 3, i'm not gonna do more than 1 setof legs cause it makes it easier for me. Check my thread in game theory soon for the complete chests with textures arms and legs, then i can get a coder to do the mouse control yay

edit: The avatar is me in a painters suit with a giant pot on my head designed to look like a tea cup with eyes and I am dancing to popcorn on live australian television.

and the download is a video file, the walk animation for the mech

lovin the edits here:

and the two selectable chassy's, i had 3 but the third one I don't really like so i didnt texture it.
