Hey all
I've been spending the past few days on a terrain pack the plan is to sell the terrains at 15 pound for a pack of 100 + about 50 source files i don't use paypal or credit card on the net so it'll be a postal order and the terrains will be sent on dvd/cd
Eack model is 6 to 12 k polys each and have been exported as an optimized triangulated mesh

More soon

if you could turn the extra detail into normal maps it would look great with out hurting the polygon count, I'm sure in Bryce all those details are just displacement maps, which I'm sure it should be able to export into bump maps or normal maps, I mean displacement maps aren't hard to make in Cinema 4D (Which I'm sure you still have it ) all that would mean is converting them into normal maps, it you're making them out of Cinema 4D, as I am bored I feel like playing with that.

However, they look good, I wouldn't buy them, thats because I like to make my own media

These don't really look very useful...why not just buy a landscape editor and make your own low-poly stuff?

How do you NOT know how to design landscapes?

You drag a bunch of stuff around. The result is still better than Bryce.

it seems to me you are just trying to get a model pack sold, unless you make something people will be willing to buy, then people won't be interested, otherwise I would have released a landscape model pack ages a go.

Sunrise its because we all know how easy it is to make terrains in Bryce, and how retarded Bryce places it's polies , sure it looks good from far, but when you actually get down to ground level, well, your characters not gona' love you for makin him walk over that lets just say.

They do look good for apps that dont require collision (not a lot of them out there...) but like a few other people have said, you just use the terrain gen, scribble some different elevations and you've got a realistic terrain in Bryce

Still pretty good though.

A wild guess, its a motorway covering an aqueduct, judging from the road texture

I'd say a road under a bridge.

EDIT: the first terrain looks pretty neat, but too high poly for me, sorry.

How many polys are those terrains? As long as it's not over 250,000 it should be ok if you add culling, FOG (to make the LOD look better and add a range to the culling), and LOD(texture and mesh). 130,050 polys runs at 130 FPS (with NGC v4.02) here with unoptimized culling (very ghetto) and no LOD. Plus terrains don't draw polys behind polys as much so they lag less.

I think people will like a screen of it in DBP before buying it...
