After I have finished creating my model and I am ready to texture it what do I do? Apparently I can't texture it in my modeling program then export it because the textures are getting lost along the way. So then how do I go about texturing my already completed models so that they will work in FPSC. Keep in mind I would like to use multiple textures on my model.

Thanks,
Duke

First you need to learn to construct a proper UV Map, then learn how to use a texturing/paint tool. Here is a small list of texture/paint programs to get you started: 2D App. List

Start with the UU3D demo (tutorials on the site):Ultimate Unwrap 3D. Do a search for a copy of Lithunwrap if you want, as that is free.

Thanks Keith I found Lithunwrap and have started to experiment with it. It's not super easy but what can you expect for free right
Is this how you texture all of your models?

Pretty much. I haven't delved into the different map types yet (other than Bump Mapping). Start with simple objects first (like your chalkboard or pencil sharpener), and work your way into more complex objects. Learning how to create a UV map takes time (and can be frustrating), don't rush it.

Ok thanks very much for your help Keith. Hopefully I'll turn out some nice models after I get the hang of it.
