well,im making a morrowind type game right now. i plan on seperating the map into differnt pieces like in morrowind,using the heightmaps,but loading them at a distance. only thing is that im using newton for my game,so it will be slow as heck for loading.i'll use fog,and the camera distance so whatever is behind those i will hide.i might as well actually just set up the collision for everything right away though,but in dbp without newton physics,you should be pretty happy with the loading them at different zones.
