My level slows down, as you can suspect, from active entites. How many is too many? I have three areas (rooms) in the level and have been forced to put only three or four enemies in each.

I made sure all the tables, gold bars, lamps or anthing that stays put are static entites. There are a lot of other active entites besides people, i.e. triggers, story zones, lights, doors that open, ammo to pick up. I guess is all counts. But its discouraging. When i added the last four enemies, they just stand there like zombies and let me shoot at them, instead of running around and shooting back. Comments? Ideas? Do static entites also count when you're using too many?

It is usually caused when you have to many active ai scripts in a level like characters. because i know i went full out on entities in a room and i kept 33fps at 700+ polys. Not over 1000 .

While Doom is right, he forgot to mention that making each enemy's AI script different can sometimes help a little.
