Figured I would give a quick peek on my current project.... With all the guns and medieval buildings on the board it seemed we all needed something new to look at...

Very early, just started messing with the face textures about an hour ago...

Hope you like...?

I think it looks great, but the texture is a bit "clean" I should say. When I think of orcs i think of dirty @ss blood drinking fang having axe swinging orcs! Of course your probably not half way done with the texture, as the body isnt finished yet. Great work though!

Besides the mouth he kinda looks just like a green muscular human. Im sure the texture and orc teeth will sort that out.

EDIT: Also I think the orcs look best when the have an underbite. Something about that just makes them look like their canabals.

Absolutely crap...

Just messing, looks great, you are skilled low poly organic modeller, which is something I respect as it is something I find quite challenging

Yey! I removed the sig...

If you resculpt the nose to a more pig like nostril you will achieve a better gruesome face.
most orcs in depiction are pig/humans.

goblins are another race altogether, however tolkien didnt first think that, hobgoblins are orcs and goblins bred into each other iirc.

gnolls are dog/humans.
bugbears are wizard created.

good work so far but tooo clean as suggested before.

If no-one gives your an answer to a question you have asked, consider:- Is your question clear.- Did you ask nicely.- Are you showing any effort to solve the problem yourself 

had some business out of town so I havent had time to work on much.

Here is a quick update on progress of the ORC (seeing that it has taken more of that direction than a goblin)

edit: please keep in mind that this is be low poly work for use in DBP RPG type projects, hope to finish with full body armor...

i like it!

The only thing i notice right now is a lack of hair. alot of times orcs are really harry mangy things, thats what adds character i think.

Its coming along very nicely

This should be the last picture I post on this guy until he is fully rigged and completed.

I have been struggling with how to texture the armor a bit now and starting to lose interest. I may end up doing his left arm in a chain mail type armor like in the lower sections of the chest armor, in any event I will post wire maps with the model for the community to texture as seen fit...

Looks good-how many polys?

My only crit is the texture on the foot. Don't get me wrong, though. It's still good, just not up to the same standard as the rest of the body.

I've seen a fair bit of your work on these forums. I'm really looking forward to seeing any games you produce. If your programming ability is as good as your modelling, your RPG-type projects are going to be amazing.

Good luck with getting the armour done.

The foot is just sketched to get the rough idea of toe placement until i get back to the actual texturing of the model...

I spent the good part of last night starting to work on animation and skinning the bones...

As for the poly's last time i checked the whole model was under 2K... Again trying to build something for the community that is pleasing but yet not a frame rate pig...

Thought I'd come and pay my respects to the rustic blade orc clan across the highlands

He's looking tops as well Heckno, look forward to seeing him fully textured up and ready to go.
